कीबोर्ड का आवष्कार एक अमेरिका के इन्वेंटर Christopher Latham Sholes ने किया था। यह आविष्कार 1868 में दुनिया के सामने लाया गया। इस कीबोर्ड का लेआउट QWERTY लेआउट पर निर्धारित था।

Keyboard में कितने प्रकार के keys होते हैं?

मुख्यतः Keyboard में सात प्रकार के keys होते हैं। इन सभी keys का संक्षिप्त वर्णन नीचे दिया गया है:-

Alphabet Keys

Alphabet Keys के अंदर आपको Alphabet के A to Z keys मिलेंगे। जिसके द्वारा आप कोई भी अंग्रेजी का शब्द टाइप कर सकते हैं।

Numeric Keys

Numeric Keys के अंदर आपको 0 – 9 numbers मिलेंगे। इनकी मदद से आप कोई भी मैथमेटिकल कैलकुलेशन कर सकते हैं।

Function Keys

Function Keys वह keys होते हैं जो हमें कीबोर्ड के सबसे पहले row में मिलते हैं। यह F1 से F12 तक होता है।

Arrow Keys

Arrow Keys के अंदर 4 arrows को अलग-अलग keys पर दर्शाया गया है। इन keys का इस्तेमाल करके आप किसी भी डायरेक्शन जैसे कि left, right, up, down में move कर सकते हैं।

Space Key

Space Key Keyboard के लास्ट row के middle में पाया जाता है। यह कीबोर्ड का सबसे बड़ा key होता है। इसके द्वारा आप किसी भी दो नंबर या शब्द के बीच में जगह छोड़ सकते हैं। यह सबसे ज्यादा इस्तेमाल होने वाली key भी है।

Control Keys

Control Keys का किसी भी कीबोर्ड में एक स्पेशल keys के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।

इसे स्पेशल इसलिए माना जाता है क्योंकि इसका अपने आप में कोई उपयोग तो नहीं है लेकिन जब इसी Control Key को किसी और key के साथ यूज करते हैं तो यह किसी मुख्य काम को करने में मदद करती है।

Example : Ctrl + X = Cut

Ctrl + C = Copy

Ctrl + V = Paste

Control key Keyboard के लेफ्ट और राइट दोनों साइड अवलेबल होती है।

Indicator Light

Indicator Light keyboard में एक तरह की लाइट लगी होती है उसे कहते हैं। इसका उपयोग कुछ keys को इस्तेमाल करते वक्त आता है। जैसे कि Num Lock, Scroll Lock, Caps Lock।

इन तीनों ही keys का जब आप इस्तेमाल करेंगे तो इनसे जुड़ी Indicator Light ON हो जाएगी और जब इन keys का इस्तेमाल नहीं हो रहा होगा तो इनसे जुड़ी Indicator Light OFF हो जाएगी।

इस Indicator Light से पता चलता है कि किस key का इस्तेमाल कब हो रहा है।

Example : जब आप Caps Lock का इस्तेमाल करेंगे तब कैप्स लॉक के ऊपर लगी Indicator Light ON रहेगी और जब आप इसे OFF कर देंगे तो इसकी Indicator Light भी OFF हो जाएगी।

Alt + Esc	Cycle through items in the order in which they were opened.
Alt + underlined letter	Perform the command for that letter.

Alt + Left arrow	Go back.
Alt + Right arrow	Go forward.
